Man Charged After Police Standoff

A man has been charged after a standoff at a house over the weekend.

One man, 45 year old David Cawston of Badger in New Costessey, has been charged with two counts of possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear or violence.

He appeared at Norwich Magistrates court this morning and has been remanded into custory to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday 23rd of May 2011.

Two other people, a woman and a man, both in their 40s, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police were called to the house on Friday evening after reports of a man with a firearm, and armed police cordoned off the area.

The situation was brought to an end late on Saturday afternoon after the three people was talked into coming out and Cawston was tasered by police.
