Man in Critical Condition After Assault

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after reports of a serious assault outside a nightclub overnight.

It happened on Prince of Wales Road in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called to the Chicago's nightclub at around 2.25am following reports a man had been assaulted outside the venue.
The victim, believed aged in his 40s, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious head injuries.
At the moment his condition is being described as critical.

Scenes of crime officers are at the scene and a seal is in place.
Some six males, all believed aged in their 30s, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are awaiting questioning by officers.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Police say this was an isolated incident outside a city nightclub and is not being linked to any of the unrest which has been taking place nationally.
