The collision happened in Pakenham just after 3:30am, when the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta appears to have lost control of his car while travelling westbound on the A143 and left the road. His car then caught on fire.

A section of the road was closed for approximately six hours while collision investigators carried out their enquiries and the car was recovered.
