Man Missing During Trial Arrested

A convicted sex offender who went missing during his trail has been arrested.

Alan Marks from Southery Road, Feltwell, was arrested earlier today in the Thames Valley area and is being brought back to Norfolk.

The 59-year-old had initially attended the start of his trial at Norwich Crown Court but then failed to turn up for the hearing on Wednesday 23rd February.

After being found guilty of three offences of having sexual intercourse with a girl who was under the age of 13 during the 1980s, Marks was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on Friday 25th February, to 11 years in jail, disqualified from working with children and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

A 61-year-old man from King's Lynn and a 26-year-old woman from Thetford were arrested for aiding an offender and have been released on police bail until the beginning of April.
