A funeral procession will be taking place later for a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan last month.

Private Lewis Hendry from Norwich, was from 3rd battalion the parachute regiment.

He died after being shot on patrol in the north of Nad-e Ali district of Helmand Province on 9th February, just three days before his 21st birthday.

His parents paid tribute to him, saying he had a "true heart of gold'' and a smile which "lit up every room he walked into''.

He will be buried with full military honours after a funeral service at St Nicholas' Church in Dereham at 1.30pm.

Roadworks which were due to start on Monday 28th February in Theatre Street in Dereham have been postponed until tomorrow (Thursday 3rd March), out of respect for the funeral procession.
