Norfolk: Extra Help for Jobless Youths

Norfolk County Council's giving extra help to young people to try and get them back into work.

Norfolk County Council are putting forward a scheme where more businesses will be able to offer unemployed youths work experience and apprenticeships.

Three million pounds is being spent to provide extra apprenticeships for youngsters to help them into the jobs market and £500,000 to support work placements for young people to help break the cycle of no experience, no job.

It's after figures out yesterday revealed unemployment in the East was up by 18 thousand, meaning 220 thousand people are out of work.
