Norfolk: Fatal Crash near Downham Market

A 14 month old boy and a woman have died after a car crash near Downham Market in Norfolk.

It happened at 7.30am on Sunday morning on the A134 at Crimplesham when their gold BMW collided with a tree.

There were three people  in the car. The young boy, aged about 14 months old, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital for treatment but sadly died.

The male driver, who is thought to be in his late 20s, was flown by air ambulance to Addenbrookes hospital for treatment to serious injuries where he remains.

The female passenger, believed to be in her early 20s, sadly died at the scene. Police believe them to be local to the East Anglia area are and they are thought to be Eastern European foreign nationals.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the manner of driving of the vehicle should contact Norfolk Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
