Forecasters are telling Heart spring should finally arrive from this weekend after one of the coldest March months on record.

It looks like spring will finally bloom next week as the cold snap moves away.

Forecasters says temperatures will get up to 20 celsius in parts of the south and east of England, with the best of the weather starting from this Sunday.

After one of the coldest ever starts to the year, it should reach double figures across most of the UK next week.

Average temperatures between March 1 and 26 were just 2.5C, three degrees below the long-term average, the Met Office said.

This would make it the coldest March since 1962 and also the fourth coldest in the UK since records began in 1910.

The coldest March in the UK was in 1962, at 1.9C.
