New figures from Nat West say people in East Anglia only have an average of £1300 of savings in the bank.

The Natwest 2012 Savings Index show people in Norfolk and Suffolk have got that avearage put aside, but that does make the area one of the best in the country.

The area is only behind the likes of London (£2100) and Scotland (£1650) when it comes to savings.

At the moment there is an estimated £1.1 trillion put away in accounts in the UK, and the report also indicates that women (57%) are better at saving than men (47%).
