Norwich: Arrests Over Boy's Shooting

Two 15 year old boys from the Norwich area and a 14 year old from Thetford have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Its after a 12 year old boy was hit in the arm with an airgun pellet just after 1 on Saturday afternoon.

He was on Bluebell Road when he was hit in the right elbow with a pellet and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital for treatment.

The 15 year olds and 14 year old have been released on police bail until 31 October 2011.

Officers are investigating whether this is linked to two reports of vehicles being damaged also on Bluebell Road. In one case a bus was hit by an unknown object that smashed one of its windows and, in the second, a white van was hit by an unknown object that smashed a window - shards of the glass caused an injury to the driver's face.

Police would like to reassure the public these are isolated incidents and are following lines of enquiry.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents, saw any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Bluebell Road or has knowledge of the incidents should contact Bethel Street CID on 0845 4564567 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
