Norwich : Betting Shop Robbery Picture

Police have released a picture of a man they would like to talk to after someone robbed a betting shop in Norwich armed with a knife.

Norfolk Constabulary has released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a knife-point robbery at a city bookmakers.

The incident took place at around 9.25pm on Wednesday 19 October 2011 when a man armed with a knife, entered ‘Bet Fred’ bookmakers, in Hall Road demanding cash.

The man held the knife towards staff and ordered they give him cash from the till and safe. He fled the scene with a significant amount of cash heading along Trafalgar Street and in the direction of Hall Road. He wore a black hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Officers would now like to speak to Mark Barton in relation to this offence. The 29-year-old is from the Norwich area but also has links to Leeds.

He is described as white of slim build, 5ft 9in tall with short light brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos of ladies names on his neck and arms.

Members of the public are advised not to approach Mark but to contact the police immediately if they know of his whereabouts.
