Norwich: Man Arrested Over Hoax Call

A man has been arrested after armed police had to be called out to some flats in Norwich.

Officers from Norfolk police were called to an address in the Mile Cross area of Norwich last night,Friday 29 June, following reports that a man had been injured inside a flat.

Armed response officers went to the scene at Markham Tower, in Bowers Avenue, shortly after 7.45pm. Police searched the address and established the man had not been injured and was in fact the victim of a hoax call.

Further enquiries led officers to arrest a 61-year-old man at another address in Bowers Avenue on suspicion of wasting police time.
