A man has been taken to hospital after a car went over a cliff on the North Norfolk coast at Overstrand near Cromer.

Emergency services were called to the car park area off Paul's Lane at shortly before 8pm on Saturday evening following reports a car had gone off a cliff.

When they got there a Vauxhall Vectra was found on the beach below the cliffs and the Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service and the Coastguard were all alerted.

The male driver, aged in his 20s, is believed to have received minor injuries as a result and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.

He was the only person in the vehicle and no one else is thought to have been hurt.

Police now say enquiries are continuing to establish what happened, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone who believes they may have information is asked to contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
