The government said yesterday that it is far too early to make a decision about whether the Joint Strike Fighter will be based at RAF Marham in Norfolk.

South West Norfolk MP Elizabeth Truss quizzed the Secretary of State for Defence, saying that RAF Marham would be the ideal home for the aircraft.

MP Elizabeth Truss said: "I will continue to press the government on this decision."

The Secretary of Defence RT Hon Philip Hammond MP applauded Truss's dedication, but a decision won't be made until later.
