Three men have been arrested after reports a woman was sexually assaulted and robbed in a lay-by.

Police were called to the A47 in Postwick at about 5am on Sunday morning following reports that a 32-year-old woman had been robbed and sexually assaulted.

Prior to the incident the woman had accepted a lift on Rouen Road, Norwich, by three men who then drove her to a lay-by where she was attacked.

Officers attended the scene and a vehicle suspected of being involved in the incident was stopped a short time later on the A1064 near Filby.

Three men, aged 22, 24, and 26, have been arrested in connection and are being questioned by detectives.

The woman is receiving help from specialist officers and staff at Norfolk’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre.

The lay-by was sealed off by police to allow officers to carry out their investigations and this has now been reopened.
