The little boy was discovered by a member of the public at around 9am in the Nelson Road area of Gorleston. Following extensive enquiries one of his relatives was found nearly five hours later at around 1.30pm.

Two men both aged in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident. They are currently in police custody awaiting questioning.

Detective Superintendent Katie Elliott, of Norfolk Constabulary, said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank the member of the public who alerted us to the little boy's situation.

"We would also like to extend that thanks to the wider community for their assistance in this matter."

The youngster remains safe and well and is being cared for locally.
