A woman has appeared in front of magistrates this morning, charged with murdering a man over the weekend.

Catherine Hodges, 49, from Buxton Road in Horstead was charged with murder by police on Tuesday evening, and has now been remanded in custody.

John Loveday, 59, was found dead at Botanbay Farm, Stratton Strawless, on Sunday after being shot several times.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has now announced it is satisfied with the way officers handled events leading up to the shooting.

Norfolk Police had been called to the property following a disturbance the previous day.

The force voluntarily referred the matter on to the IPCC, but a spokesman said: ``After assessment, we have decided we are satisfied this matter can continue to be dealt with by Norfolk Police and there is no requirement for an IPCC investigation.''
