Four guns and some ammunition have been stolen during a burglary in Corby.

It happened in the Laxton area sometime between 6pm on Monday, 8th November and 3pm on Tuesday, 9th November.

All of the weapons have serial numbers of them and were taken from a locked cabinet.

Detective Constable Sally Perry said:

"The fact that guns have been stolen is obviously very concerning.

"I would like to reassure residents we are doing all we can to identify those responsible and with the public's vigilance we can stop these thieves and recover the weapons.

"I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, to contact us.

"I would also appeal to anyone offered these weapons to call police immediately."
