The cherry picker was driven into the front of the bank on Thrapston High Street at 3am.

Police say two men were involved in the robbery, one of which was wearing a balaclava and carried a baseball bat.

The offenders stole the cash machine from the outside wall and made off in another vehicle, believed to be a blue Vauxhall Astra.

A Mitsubishi Shogun, is also thought to be involved in the ram raid. These vehicles left the scene, in the direction of Islip and Denford.

The cherry picker had been stolen from premises in the nearby village of Lowick back in January.
