Delivery driver assaulted and robbed

Police in Wellingborough are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place in the town centre early this morning (Tuesday January 11th).

A delivery driver parked at the corner of Gordon Road and Cannon Street at around 6.50am, when a group of five offenders approached and punched him.
 
They then stole cigarettes from the lorry before making off along Gordon Street in a dark blue/green coloured Renault Laguna, 1998 model.
 
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have witnessed this vehicle leaving Gordon Road at around 7am this morning.
 
The five offenders are all believed to have been men, all were of slim build, aged in their late 20s and around 5ft11" tall.
