Man injured during attempted theft

Corby police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a man who is believed to have been attempting to steal a car in Princewood Road, was assaulted.

The incident happened sometime between 4.45am and 5.15am on Sunday 9 January.
 
A 38-year-old man was stood talking to a friend next to his BMW when another man got into the car and attempted to drive off.
 
At this point the owner pulled the man out of the car, after which he began damaging the vehicle.
 
A group of people in the street then restrained the man, during which he sustained injuries to his face for which he required hospital treatment.
 
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have been involved in it, and who has yet to speak to officers.
 
Three men, aged 27, 29 and 38, have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further enquiries.
