Man Injured In Hammer Attack In Corby

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Sunday 4 August, between 8.00pm and 8.10pm, in the underpass that links Dunedin Road with the Danesholme Estate.

A 25-year-old man was walking from Dunedin Road, into the underpass that leads to Danesholme Estate, when he was approached by a man who was cycling on a black mountain bike.

The man pulled up beside the victim, jumped off his bike and hit the victim on the head several times with a hammer. The victim then ran off into the Danesholme Estate. The offender is believed to have gone in the opposite direction, into Kingswood Estate.

The victim was taken to hospital and required stitches.

The offender is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall and of skinny build. He was wearing a black tracksuit, black balaclava with white trim around the eyes and was riding a plain black mountain bike.
