Man left with broken bones after assault

Police in Northampton are appealing for witnesses after a 42-year-old man was assaulted as he rode a bike between Maidencastle and the Goldings shops in Blackthorn on New Years Eve.

The man was riding a push bike at around 10.30pm when he was approached by a group of six people, a mixture of both sexes, who pushed him off his bike and assaulted him.
 
He was taken to Northampton General Hospital with numerous injuries including a broken cheek bone, cuts and bruises.
 
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
