Bosses at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire say they're on track to have a new pit complex open in time for next years Formula One race.

But the new building won't just be used on race days - it can be changed over for use for conferences and banqueting as well - aparently even the space the Formula One teams use for their cars will be able to be used for other things.

It's the first phase of the redevelopment of the race track - with more work in the pipeline.

At the moment about 120 people are working on the building site, but Richard Phillips - the Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited says in the long term, work at the circuit could mean a lot more jobs:

"We've already created nearly 40 jobs this year so far and we've only really just started, so the future's looking very bright.  The plans we've got for the whole site, there's a plan for between two and three thousand jobs over the next ten to fifteen years"
