Northampton Student Dies In Midlands Collision

A student from Northampton has died following a serious collision in Birmingham on Friday.

West Midlands Police have told Heart, Chloe Adkins was walking along Hagley Road, near to the Plough and Harrow pub in the city's Edgbaston district, just before 3pm on Friday (Jan 25) when she was involved in a collision with a silver Mercedes car.
 
The 20 year-old from Northampton and was studying in the city, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Chloe died as a result of her injuries in hospital on Saturday evening.
 
Sergeant Gavin Green, from the West Midlands Regional Collision Investigation Unit, told Heart: "We are investigating the movements of the Silver Mercedes prior to the crash and what led to it being involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
 
With this in mind, I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the silver Mercedes before the crash to get in touch."
