Prince Charles Visits Northampton

22 January 2013, 16:47

The Prince of Wales has been in Northampton visiting the shoe manufacturers Crockett & Jones.

The Prince's visit was part of a tour of British manufacturers. Crockett & Jones have been making shoes in Northampton since 1879.

Prince Charles was given a pair of boots matching a style worn by Daniel Craig in the latest Bond movie.  Crockett and Jones also made the pair Daniel Craig wore in 'Skyfall'.

When Charles arrived at the factory on Perry Street on Tuesday 22 January 2013 he was welcomed by local school children and Northampton North MP Michael Ellis. He was then taken on an hour-long tour where he met staff and saw how the shoes were made.
