Two Die In A14 Crash

Police have told Heart two people have died after a road traffic collision on the A14 westbound on Saturday night.

The collision took place at around 11pm on Saturday 22nd June, between junctions 2 and 1, when a light coloured Mercedes, being driven by a 33-year-old man, was in collision with a green Ford Ka, being driven by a 26-year-old man and a red Peugeot 208, being driven by a 47-year-old man.

The 26-year-old man who was driving the Ka and his 21-year-old female passenger both died as a result of the collision.

No one else was injured.

William Wilson, aged 33, from Westrum Lane, Brigg in Humberside, has been arrested and charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of driving after consuming excess alcohol. He will appear before Northampton Magistrates' Court this morning.

The Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

They would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a light coloured Mercedes saloon car being driven, prior to the incident, on the A43 near Corby or Kettering, or travelling in either direction on the A14 between junctions 1 and 7.
