Danny Wake: Inquest Into Darlington Hit And Run

The coroner at the inquest into the death of a toddler from Darlington, who was killed in a hit and run in the town, has recorded a verdict of accidental death.

3 year old Danny Wake was walking with his mum, brother and another child through the town on Monday 4th November 2013 when it's believed he strayed into the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle.

Police believe the vehicle that hit the boy was a van - although the driver hasn't been traced.

In the days following the crash a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving before being released without charge.

An inquest into the boy's death was opened and adjourned earlier this year.

Our lives changed forever on the 4th November last year when our beautiful little boy Danny was taken from us.

Three months later we still need answers to the questions we have. If anyone knows anything about what happened to Danny that day then please contact Crimestoppers."

Crimestoppers' North East Regional Manager, Dave Hunter, said:
"This is a heartbreaking time for Danny's family as they continue to try to come to terms with his tragic death. They desperately need to know exactly what happened on that day.
