A man suffered a stab wound to his leg after being assaulted in North Tyneside.
The 27-year-old was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary after police and the ambulance service were called to an address in Addison Court in Wallsend at 8.17am on Saturday.
His condition is described as stable and the injury is not believed to be life threatening.
When officers arrived the offender had already made off from the scene.
He is described as a white man aged between 20 to 30 years, 5 feet 8" tall and of a medium build with short dark hair.
He was wearing a hi-vis workman's style jacket and possibly a black woollen hat.
It is believed that both parties are known to each other.
