Middlesbrough Murder: Accused Found Dead In Prison

A 19 year old man's been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at a house on Parliament Street in Middlesbrough.

Dawit Khasay had been charged over the death of Natsnet Tekle Nahisi in Middlesbrough earlier this month. 

The 19 year old was being held at HMP Holme House in Stockton, but died at some point over the weekend. 

Nahisi, who is thought to be originally from Eritrea in the Horn of Africa, was found dead in a house on Parliament Road on 3rd May. 

Cleveland Police said they were contacted at 6:30am on Sunday following the death of an inmate at Holme House. 

The force said a post-mortem examination would be carried out.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A 19 year old man's been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at a house on Parliament Street in Middlesbrough.

The body of a woman in her 20s was discovered in the house in the early hours of Saturday 3rd May. 

Although formal identification of the victim is still to take place, officers today said they believe she is originally from Eritrea in the Horn of Africa, and they have made contact with someone thought to be a family member.

The man is due to appear at Teesside Remand Court later today.
