Police Car On 999 Calls Crashes In Whitley Bay

3 people are in hospital after a police car on an emergency call out was involved in a crash.

It happened as 10:30 last night on Earsdon Road.

The collision happened with a Nissan Juke near to the traffic lights at the entrance into West Park.

The police vehicle was responding to an call out in Whitley Bay.

The female driver of the Nissan Juke and the police officers were taken to the RVI hospital for treatment.

A section of Earsdon Road is currently closed while investigations are carried out.
