Meet our local champion Andrew who'll be taking part in Bike Some Noise on Thursday 9th October.

As part of Global's Make Some Noise, people from around our network of radio stations will be cycling from Lands End to John O Groats on 'static' cycles to help raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK and here in the North East.

Our Local Champion who'll will be cycling for us on the day is... Andrew Leadbitter

Which charity are you representing and how did you come to be involved with them?

I am representing The Sick Childrens Trust, I started in the role of House Manager at Scott House at the Freeman Hospital  4 weeks ago after looking for a role that is challenging but allows me to give something back.

Why does your The Sick Childrens Trust really deserve the support?

We are a charity that solely runs on charitable donations and provide a service to families so they can be close to there children, whilst undergoing treatment in the heat unit. We provide a home from home environment in our house where families stay with no charge.

What’s the most random act of kindness you’ve ever received or given?

Nothing springs to mind for a random act of kindness, but I regularly help with a local Scout group giving up my time to help with activities and camps.

How far do you think you'll get on the Bike (Some Noise)?

I am hoping to complete a least 50 mile depending upon the length of time I have in the seat.

And which Heart Presenter do you love the most and why?

I like Steven Mulhern and Emma Willis.
