Flooding exercise in North Wales

10 April 2013, 16:57

Following flooding in St Asaph and elsewhere during 2012, rescue teams have been carrying out a flooding exercise in Bala.

Representatives from the Wales Inland Water and Flood Rescue Group; including all three Fire and Rescue Services in Wales, North Wales Police, the RNLI, RAF Search and Rescue, Natural Resources Wales, Gwynedd Council, Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust, the RSPCA, Severn Area Rescue Association, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the AA, and North Wales Mountain Rescue Association, have all been taking part in Exercise Berwyn.

The simulated flood rescues saw a kayaker capsize, a caravan flooded and a car crash into a river.
