Name: Alice Frobisher

Alice's nomination story:

'18 year old Alice is a committed volunteer in the community. In August 2007 she became the 1st Young Volunteer in Denbighshire, a scheme for young volunteers co-ordinated by denbighshire Voluntary services. In December 2007 Alice was the Winner of Prestatyn Town Council (Meliden) Under 18 Community Award. In October 2008 Alice was Awarded the Youth Achievement Silver Award (1st to be issued in Wales) and getting her Gold Award in January 2011. She has already attained her 200 hour Millennium Volunteer Award. A committed Girl Guider, having been a Rainbow, Brownie and Guide, she is now a Young Leader with the 1st Meliden Guides which meets every tuesday (term time). Alice is also an assistant swimming teacher at Prestatyn Swimming Club where she volunteers every Sunday evening again during term time. A keen sailor Alice was the FIRST female Junior Captain at penmaenmawr Sailing Club and is now the Sailing Captain. Alice has recently become a Young Dragon/Dreigiuau Ifanc (an initiative in Wales of HRH Prince Charles) and since October 2010 has helped to raise over £10,000 for ChildLine, Contact the Elderly, St Kentigern Hospice, Comic relief, Motor Neurone Disease, and been a volunteer at the Llandudno10 Road Race, Contact the Elderly Christmas Party, Meliden Gala. Alice is truely a committed community volunteer and at such a young age is a credit and great example to young people today. Alice deserves to be one of the Olympic Torch carriers.

Age: 21

Charlotte's nomination story

"21 year old Charlotte has been a committed volunteer in her community of Prestatyn and Meliden from a very earl age. One of her main passions has been the Guide Movement. Sh e was a Rainbow, a Brownie and a Guide. At 15 she became a Young Leader at the 1st Meliden Guide Group which meets every Tuesday evening during term time. The guides have carried out many fundraising events such as coffee mornings, bag packs, litter picks and sponsored events. Charlotte has helped raise funds for Meliden Youth Club, Prestatyn Carnival, Prestatyn Community Hospital and Denbighshire Friends of ChildLine. From December 2005 to March 2007, Charlotte volunteered at the local Claire House Hospice Shop in Prestatyn and helped at the annual Village Gala. During these same years Charlotte started collecting stamps for the local Leprosy Group and for a Blue Peter Appeal and collected around a hundred thousand stamps. Charlotte has been away at University for three years BUT whenever home she has continued her Guiding duties. Charlotte has become a Young Dragon/Dreigiau Ifanc (an initiative in Wales of HRH Prince Charles) and as part of the team has helped to raise over £10,000 in 8 months for the St Kentigern Hospice, Penmaenmawr Sailing Club, Prestatyn Swimming Club, Contact the Elderly, Comic Relief and Motor Neuron disease group. charlotte is always willing to lend a hand in her community and deserves to carry the Torch."

Name: Harriett Frobisher 
Age: 17

Harriet's nomination story

"16 year old Harriet struggles through life. She suffers fro right sided ERB'S PALSY, is severly Dislexic and has IRLAMS. However at 16 she is a credit to herself, her family and her community. Harriet has always enjoyed being in the Guide Movement. She has been a Rainbow, a Brownie and a Guide, and is now a Young Guide Leader at the 1st Meliden Guides every Tuesday evening (term time). Over the years the Guides have taken part in the Operation Christmas Child for which Harriet recived a National Youth Achievemnt Bronze Certificate for her efforts (The first in Wales). She is also a volunteer every Sunday evening (term time) at Prestatyn Swimming Club where she helps out in the toddler swimming area. During 2004 and 5, Harriet had several boxes of bric-a-brac items which she would take to various coffee morning and whatever she raised would go to the charity the coffee morning was in aid of. She has volunteered at num,erous litter picks and bag packs, and an annual CHILDLINE Sponsored walk around the Great Orme where she has helped out for the last three years. Harriet has become a member of Young Dragons/Dreigiau Ufanc (an initiative in Wales of HRS Prince Charles) and has, since September 2010 helped raise over £10,000 for the likes of ChildLine, St Kentigern Hospice, Contact the Elderly, Motor Neurone Disease. As part of the Young Dragons Harriet has volunteered at the Llandudno10- Road Race. Harriet has her own problems but is the first to help others whenever she can."
