Plans to expand Wirral Offshore Wind farm

Up to 75 more turbines could be built in the Liverpool Bay

The proposals cover an area of 40 square kilometers in between North Wales, the Wirral and North Liverpool and would power a quarter of a million homes.

Dong Energy are now holding consultation events before submitting planning applications to see what we think about the plans.

The company intend to install either 75 turbines like the ones which are already working off the Wirral coastline, or 30 bigger generators.

Consultation events are taking place at the following:

• Wednesday 18th April 1pm-7pm at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton
• Friday 20th April 12 noon - 6pm at the Crosby Leisure Centre
• Saturday 21st April 10am - 4pm at the Hoylake Community Centre
