Police hunt for Chester bank robber

Man smashed glass in the bank in Chester at the end of December, getting away with cash.

The attack happened at 3.30pm on Friday 30th December at the Lloyds TSB bank on Christleton Road in Chester when a man walked in with a rock, and smashed a pane of glass at a cashiers' counter.  He then went behind the counter and stole cash before running away.

Cheshire Police say: "Thankfully none of the staff on duty or members of the publicwere harmed during the incident."

The suspect is described as a white man, 6' tall of medium build and dressed in a dark green waterproof hooded jacketand black tracksuit bottoms. The man had made attempts to cover his face with a black face covering.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise the man captured on CCTV, or to anyone who may be able to assist the investigation in any way, to contact DC Andy Collinson at Chester CID on 101 quoting incident 554 of 30th December.
