Thirteenth Arrest in Operation Pallial

Detectives investigating allegations of historic sex abuse in care homes in North Wales have made their 13th arrest after a man was today (23rd OCtober) taken in for questioning on suspicion of indecently assaulting three boys.

Officers attached to Operation Pallial - the investigation being run by the National Crime Agency (NCA) - arrested a 66-year-old man from St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex. 

An NCA spokesman said: 

"A 66-year-old man was arrested in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, on suspicion of a number of offences of indecent assault. The offences are alleged to have taken place against three boys, between 1975 and 1977, when they were aged between 10 and 14 years old. 

"The man has been taken to a local police station where he will be interviewed by NCA officers from Operation Pallial.'' 

The NCA said no further information about the arrest, or the specific nature of the offences being put to him, would be provided. 

To date, one person has been charged with a large number of serious sexual offences in relation to the inquiry.
