Train Crashes at Chester

A train has overshot the barrier and crashed at Chester station.

It happened at Platform 1 at around 12.10pm when the 10:10 Virgin Trains service from London Euston to Chester reportedly overshot the barrier.

One person has been taken to hospital.

One passenger tweeted from the scene: "...first few carriages were angled up, had smashed through glass wall and bike."

The platform is currently taped off while inspectors check underneath the train.

We will bring you further updates as we get them.
