Start slow…and then ease off.
Best bit of Marathon advice I’ve ever given myself!
Wow, what an event. Delighted and, as always, shocked to have got my hands on a medal (the coolest bit of bling you’ll ever see around my neck!) I really am no kind of natural-born athlete and I think in some weird way, that’s all part of the challenge for me.
I finished in 5hrs 8mins – no threat to the podium, but having been unable to run even a yard only 5 weeks ago through injury, I’m pretty happy today. And how amazing are those crowds? They will never cease to blow me away. Incredible support every inch of the way from the start on Blackheath through to those final excruciating steps down the Mall.
And I didn’t get beaten by a Tin of Beans this year…yay!
Would I do it again? Well, my legs say no no no no no no no no no.
I guess that’s a maybe, then…
Big love and thanks for so many brilliant messages of support.
