An update on life
I have it on good authority that summer will return at some point. I’m currently sitting at the computer at home, looking out of the window at the rain falling as if someone turned on the world’s biggest sprinkler. So I thought I’d stay indoors and update you on what I’ve been up to.
Well, the kids have broken up from school. In fact, their last day of term was on Friday. Seeing them arrive home with a years-full of work bursting out their bags and a beaming smiles across their faces, you know they’re on cloud 9 that six weeks off is about to start. Soon after they got back, I had to go shopping to get a few things. The first place I walked in to had “Back To School” banners everywhere advertising offers on stationary, uniforms, lunch boxes, etc. So their holiday this year officially lasted about 2 hours. We didn’t even go away!
Last night, I went to see a preview of 'The Proposal', Sandra Bullock’s return to the big screen with what is now officially her most successful movie. I’m picky with my rom-coms. Most of them I find all too cheesy and predictable, but this film is laugh-out-loud funny and is brilliantly performed by Bullock and co-star Ryan Reynolds.
Finally, I’m sitting here looking more like a Thunderbird puppet having done an injury to my back the other day. Every time I look around, I have to turn my whole body in that direction – very embarrassing! I’m not really sure how it happened – it just went “ping” and I went “AAAAGGGHHHH”. It might be after my vigorous work-out last week. I spent a day or two playing lots of tennis which I haven’t done for a while. I was trying to perfect my serve along with my volley smash, but I clearly did too much. I’d rather not go in to detail…
… particularly as I was only playing tennis on the Nintendo Wii. Not for real. I know. Pathetic.
