Oxford Stabbing: Man Arrested

A 20-year-old has been arrested and bailed after a 22-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds on Sunday.

The injured man was discovered by friends in Temple Street in east Oxford at around 1:30am on Sunday morning.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he's had surgery after multiple stab wounds to his arms and stomach.

Officers say he is currently in a stable condition.

Detective Constable Craig Burchall, who is investigating the incident, told Heart:

"We now believe that a fight broke out at the junction of St Clement’s Street and The Plain and that the victim ran off along the Cowley Road.

"We believe that three men were involved and we are actively looking to make two more arrests.

"I remain keen to trace any witnesses to this information and would ask anyone with any information that may help us progress our investigation to contact me urgently."

Officers have been looking through CCTV to gather more information about what happened.

The arrested man has been bailed until 15th March.
