About Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice

The Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival aims to raise as much money as possible for Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall Hospice. The Hospice has been providing incredible end of life care and support to patients and their families from round the region for more than 20 years. In that time, staff and volunteers have had to work in a building with serious limitations which impact on them and those they care for.

Shared bedrooms and bathrooms mean little privacy or dignity for patients. Uneven floors and endless staircases make getting outside a real struggle. All too obvious medical equipment is a constant reminder of ill health. These issues and more will become a thing of the past in the new state-of-the-art Thorpe Hall.

The doors of the new hospice are set to open this summer. But to keep the project on track fundraising must continue. The £6 million target is a big one, but with continuing support from the community and your support of the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, it can be achieved.
