Crowland: Motorcyclist Dies In A16 Crash

Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist has died in a crash on the A16 at Crowland, north of Peterborough.

Emergency services were called to the A16 Crowland bypass at 6am this morning after the collision involving a Honda motorcycle, a Volkswagen Passat and a lorry.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from the Cowbit area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lincolnshire Police say the motorcyclist's death is the fifth on Lincolnshire's roads so far this year, compared with ten at the same point in 2013.

Update 12th March 2014, 16:20

The driver of the car, a 24 year old man from Spalding, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently being questioned at Boston Police Station.
