Cycle Race for Peterborough

Around 8000 people will be gathering in Peterborough this afternoon - for the second cycling Tour series. Events have been taking place in the city centre through the day but the main race starts at 7 this evening.

Stuart Hamilton from the City Council spoke to Heart and apologised for the road closures today - but says there's a bigger benefit for everyone - especially the evening economy "you know the city has been having a bit of a stigma over the lack of things to do and see, especially in the evening".

Mr Hamilton added "it's the second time in two year's we've been able to bring the event here - it's wonderful to see how many people are coming here today - we're already hoping to bring it back in 2011"
