A woman from Peterborough has died in hospital, after a three car crash on the A605 near Oundle.

56 year old Jeka Howley, from The Dell in Peterborough, was driving one of the cars involved in the collision at around 10:15pm on Tuesday 12 November.

Mrs Howley was driving northbound in a yellow Vauxhall Tigra, in front of a silver Peugeot 206 which was being driven by a man.

A black Ford Fiesta was being driven by a 20-year-old man in the opposite direction and was also involved in the collision.

Police believe another vehicle may have been involved in the collision, but did not stop.

Sergeant Nick Gray, said: "We believe a series of cars and possibly a motorbike overtook Mrs Howley and the silver Peugeot in the direction of Peterborough, shortly before the collision.

We would like to speak to those motorists as they may have valuable information that may be able to assist our investigation."

Officers will be returning to the A605 tonight, a week on from the collision, to stop drivers and ask if they were travelling on the same road on 5 November.

Northamptonshire Police say Mrs Howley died on Friday night at University Hospital, Coventry.

The man driving the Ford Fiesta was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

The man driving the Peugeot was not injured in the collision.
