Peterborough: Cash Machine Warning

14 October 2011, 11:05 | Updated: 14 October 2011, 11:11

Police say anybody who has used certain cash machines in Peterborough during the last week should check their account.

It's after card skimming devices, which copy information from credit and debit cards, were discovered in cash points outside Marks and Spencer in Bridge Street and next to BHS in the Queensgate.

The devices were found in the machines on Saturday the 8th October.

Police say one victim has been identified - but anybody who has used either machine should check their bank account.

Police have also released a picture of a man officers want to speak to in connection with the investigation [pictured - top right].

PC Martin Smith said: "I would urge anyone who has used these cash machines last week to check their accounts.

I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the man pictured to contact police as we believe he may have important information which could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Smith on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
