The friend of a couple, who died in a car crash near Peterborough, is raising money for their orphaned toddler.

Louise Putland's organising fundraisers to support three year old Lucas Durber through school.

He was seriously hurt in the crash, which was on the A47 on 25th August this year, while his parents Stephen and Samantha Durber were both killed.

Louise told Heart thinking of her own daughter Danielle made her realise she needed to help.

She said: "I thought to myself if something happened to me or my partner, I would want someone to look after Danielle to say this is the right path to choose in life and there is help here for you.

"It just seemed like I had to do it, I had to do something for Lucas."

An evening of entertainment is being held at Fletton Ex-Service Men's Club on November 30th from 7pm until midnight.

There will be an auction and a raffle, live music from bands and a dj, a magician and a buffet.

Tickets for the evening cost £5. Anyone who would like to book or donate items can contact Louise Putland by email at
