Peterborough: Race For Life Postponed

9 July 2012, 14:31 | Updated: 15 December 2017, 15:04

The Race for Life scheduled to take place in Peterborough on Tuesday 10th July has been postponed.

The event, in aid of Cancer Research UK, was due to be held at Ferry Meadows.

However organisers have cancelled tomorrow's 5km race after recent weather conditions led to health and safety concerns.

Heavy rain has led to the course and car parking areas at Ferry Meadows becoming waterlogged.

It will now be held at Ferry Meadows on Tuesday 11th September at 7:30pm.

Julie Braithwaite, Peterborough Race for Life Event Manager, said: "We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience caused by the last-minute postponement of the Peterborough Race for Life.

We hope everyone understands why we have had to do it. The event has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday 11th September 2012.

All participants will be contacted by Cancer Research UK and we will do our utmost to ensure they can take part in an alternative event."
