Peterborough: Two Bodies Found

Cambridgeshire Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found in a house in Peterborough.

Officers were called to the 'sudden death' of a man at a house in the Hetley area of Peterborough at 4am yesterday (Sunday).

The body of a man in his 30s was discovered.

His death is being treated as murder

Police then received information that led them to another man's body at Peterborough Crematorium in North Bretton, which was discovered at 8:30am.

The death of this man, who was in his 60s, is not being treated as suspicious.

Police are linking the deaths and are not looking for anybody else in connection with them.

The property in Hetley remains cordoned off as scenes of crime officers continue to examine the premises.

Post mortem examinations on both men are due to be carried out at Peterborough City Hospital this afternoon.

Detective Inspector Liz Mead, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We are linking these two deaths and are not looking for anyone else in connection with them. 

We are now carrying out extensive inquiries to find out exactly what happened.
 
We are in contact with the families of both men and will be keeping them up to date on our inquiries.
 
This appears to be have been a tragic set of circumstances which we are treating as an isolated incident."
