A Cambridgeshire man who sexually assaulted two young girls in the 1990s has been locked up.

Julian Keightley [pictured - right] who is 44 and from the village of Sawtry, had denied attacking the 12 and 17 year old girls between 1991 and 1993.

However, following a trial at Huntingdon Crown Court, he has been convicted and jailed for 12 years.

Police sat he seriously sexually assaulted one victim in a tent in a village, and sexually assaulted the other victim in a camper van.

On both occasions he gave the girls drugs and alcohol before attacking them.

Keightley will also spend the rest of his life on the Sex Offenders Register.

Detective Constable Julia Boon, who investigated, said: "This was a complex case because the offences happened such a long time ago. The victims have shown great bravery to give evidence at trial and bring Keightley to justice.

This case should serve as a warning to anyone who thinks they can commit this type of crime and get away with it."
